President Dickey to Speak at Oil Industry Centennial

President Dickey will be a featured speaker at the oil industry's celebration, at Titusville, Pa., August 26, of the centennial of the drilling of the first commercial oil well there. His speech and other centennial-observance activities will point up the part played by Dartmouth alumni like George Bissell, Class of 1845, and Dr. Francis B. Brewer, Class of 1843, and by faculty members Dr. Dixi Crosby and Oliver P. Hubbard in the early development of the industry. Plans are now afoot for a meeting of Western Pennsylvania alumni with President Dickey during the observance. Area alumni will be notified when such arrangements are made.
