One fortunate thing about the summer hiatus is the buildup of the clipping pile. Among this buildup:

Wade Elliott is the sales manager for a bustling new home development called Main Line Homes, in Middleton, Mass. This enterprise is reported capturing the imagination and enthusiasm of the Middleton people, who have found the no-down payment formula of the Main Line company highly attractive. Wade was formerly with GE in Bridgeport before coming home to enter the building business.

Pete New phoned the writer as he was passing through my city, saying that he will shortly be in action at Harvard on a post-doctoral fellowship in geriatrics. Peter says that sociology of older people has been a chief concern of his and that his Harvard appointment is an excellent one.

Elliot Baritz and Marjorie recently welcomed Marc Pear into their family.

Dave Cowles resigned as Curate of St. John's Episcopal Church in Waterbury, Conn., recently to accept a call as Rector of Christ Church in Norwich. Dave had been in charge of youth work for a couple of years and had served as priest-in-charge while the people of his former parish searched for a new rector. He trained for the ministry at Union Theological Seminary and did work in Harlem parish. Jeannine, his wife, is a musician, a singer, a mezzo. She has sung in Broadway musicals and with the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra.

It is pleasant to report that our minority of bachelors is diminishing. Jim Rooney has let the newspapers reveal his October wedding to Audrey Heyman of Rocky River, Ohio. Audrey is a philosophy graduate of Hood College and also studied at the University of Edinburgh. Jim is a veterinarian, which profession he learned at Cornell. He also got a master's degree from Virginia Polytech, so you can see he has got around.

George Hartmann wed Anne Martin of Leonia, N. J., in the heat of summer. Anne is a Middlebury lady and also taught languages in the high school at Tarry town, N. Y. George continues to engineer for GE.

Larry Schaefer has married Mrs. Schaefer. (The reporter who left the bride's name out of the newspaper account of her wedding has been replaced.) The bride and groom honeymooned at Pink Beach, Bermuda, and live now at 2 Fay Place, Summit, N. J. Larry is vice-president of Chas. Schaefer Sons, Inc.

Ed Macßurney, the Reverend Mr. MacBurney, disclosed his bag of tricks which he uses in dealing with Dartmouth students at talk which he gave at the Church of the Good Shepherd, in Nashua. Ed is assistant to Father Hodder at St. Thomas, as you may know, and is in charge of the work of the Episcopal Church on the campus. Ed was trained for the ministry at Berkeley Divinity School, where he was a classmate of the Rev. Walter Righter, who gave Ed the above-mentioned speaking invitation. He also did graduate study at Oxford.

Frank Parker and his wife and four children, Charlotte, Cynthia, Frank and Mary Beth, recently emigrated from Milton to Wellesley in Massachusetts. Frank is in beer. Anheuser Busch, for whom he is New England regional manager.

Bill White of Morristown, N. J., recently received an honor of significant dimensions: election as a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries, the recognized professional actuarial body of this country and Canada. Bill is with the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co., where he is a senior mathematical assistant on the electronics committee. The Whites have two.

John Ruhsam, a Lt. Col. in the Marine Air Detachment Base at Glenview, Ill., recently was honored with a decoration of Silver Oak leaves.

Dick Desmond '49 and his new bride Meredith returned home to Dallas, Texas for a gallant Dartmouth homecoming. Seated (l to r) are Dick, his wife, and Joe Riley '49.
