THE COVER
John R. Scotford Jr. '38, who designed the symbol for Dartmouth's 1957 convocation, also designed this one. The four areas encircling the doctor and his patient represent the four responsibilities of the modern medical practitioner and scientist: responsibilities to his patient, to society, to his profession, and to himself.
