Much to my surprise the summer vacation pepped up some of the boys and they put in brief notes when they sent in the Class dues. There are still some who have not been heard from.
Bucky reports that he is again a great-grandfather. Name of the new progeny not disclosed. Joe Bartlett's two sons have moved from Plymouth to their winter home, so that none of the family are in Bucky's vicinity now. Bob Osborne is convalescing in the Princeton Hospital, Princeton, N. J. I am sure a card or letter would be greatly appreciated.
Fred Lord was much interested in the dedication of the new medical building. His son, wife, and wonderful grandchild (of course Fred is a prejudiced witness) were with him last summer. His son, F. M. Lord '36, was sent to Bonn, Germany, to give a paper before the International Congress of Psychologists. Jeanne is compiling a history of old Hanover houses to be published next year in connection with the 200th anniversary of the founding of the town of Hanover.
Gleason spent a week at Boothbay Harbor, Me., in August. He is exercising his green thumb in a garden trying to keep weeds under control. If he meets with success, he should go to the U. N.
Ev Snow has written in poetry an invitation to "Friends" to visit him. Here it is; no R.S.V.P. is required. Just accept by your presence.
FRIENDS
A blessing are the good friends we have As the years go hurrying by, Filling so full our own emptiness Bringing cheer in place of a sigh.
What a pleasure it is when they drop in To share their supply of what's new They open to us wider realms of thought And rouse us to get up and do.
When they are gone we resume our tasks With fresh zest for what's to be done; Work seems lighter for the lift they gave Hard problems seem more like fun.
Welcome, dear friends, to this house of ours, Of our time take freely your toll; We'll share with abandon whatever we have, Your coming is good for the soul.
