WITH THE BIG GREEN TEAMS
March 1960

As the days get longer and longer, the 1959-60 winter season for the Big Green teams gets shorter and shorter. With the schedule well past the halfway mark, the court and rink varsity squads still command Ivy League leads, but at this point the laurels are by no means buttoned up. The basketball team has an overall 11-6 record, standing 7-1 in the league, and its league margin is two games. Princeton and Cornell are tied for second with 5-3 marks.

The record for the hockey team stands at ten wins, four losses and one tie. The pucksters' 5-1 league showing to date places them at the top, but a secondplace Yale club with a 4-1 league performance could make the finish of the hockey race a real thriller. The varsity swimming team has won five and lost two, and the indoor track team stands 2-2 in dual-meet competition.

After taking four straight losses, the varsity wrestling squad came back strong with three straight on the winning side. The squash team has a 3-4 record. Totals for the Indian varsity teams show a winter showing of 34 victories and 22 defeats and one tie.

In freshman competition, the '69 trackmen and the freshmen first team and "B" basketball squads have winning records. The '63 runners are 3-1 while the "A" court team sports a 7-3 mark. The "B's" are unbeaten, 3-0. On the losing side in overall records to date are the '63 hockey players with four wins, seven losses and one tie; and the freshman squash team, 1-3. The '63 wrestlers are 1-1. The total winter record for the '63 teams so far stands at 19 wins, 15 losses and one tie. For all Dartmouth teams, freshman and varsity, the winter record shows 53 wins, 37 losses and two ties.
