After many fine seasons on the golf course, Dartmouth's golfing fortunes have fallen upon hard times. Coach Tom Keane is not optimistic about his team this spring, particularly after the record of four defeats and no wins on the southern trek. However, the Big Green golfers were handicapped by the weather which cancelled five of the nine matches carded. The Indians lost to Fort Lee, a 1-7, Fort Andrews, 17-7, George Washington, 6½-2½ and Navy, 5-2.
Captain Roger Bentley heads four other seniors - Larry Savage, Bob Argazzi, Pete Parker and Steve Atwater - while Dave Lasher, a junior, and sophomore Kent Graham, who doubles as the team manager, are the other top competitors. None of them looked impressive on the trip, but Coach Keane has a way of bringing his team along as the season develops and the Indians may yet salvage enough matches to compile a respectable record this spring.
