CHARLES F. DEY '52, history teacher at Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., has been named Assistant Dean of the College. He succeeds Eugene Hotchkiss III '50, associate dean, who has been appointed Dean of Students at Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, Calif., and assumes his Dartmouth post in August.

A native of Short Hills, N. J., Dey served in the Navy as a Combat Information Officer following his graduation from college. While an undergraduate at the College, he was a member of Casque and Gauntlet and Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He won varsity letters in football and tennis.

Dey has done graduate work at Harvard, where he received a Master's degree in 1957, and at the University of Edinburgh and Columbia University. At Phillips Academy, in addition to teaching history, he has served as a resident housemaster and coached the varsity tennis and junior varsity football teams.
