Sign of the times in '52's own backyard: Ron Scott, Philadelphia lawyer though he is, was one of those young American reservists recalled to active duty on October 1. Ron and Terri had just purchased a home in Merion, Pa., and a child is due in November. But it's all Navy now for the Scotts.
Life goes on pretty much as usual elsewhere — marriage, birth, advancement, etc. Doug Branigan was married to Miss Marilyn Bechdolt in Indianapolis on June 24. Half way round the world from the great American Midwest Paul Loo took Miss Violet Shaw as his bride in Tokyo on April 25. Violet is a Bryn Mawr graduate. She and Paul met when he was at graduate studies at Wharton School of Finance. They are now at home in Honolulu.
Boston/Cambridge architect Tad Stahl and Miss Jane P. Moulton were married in Boston on October 2. Tad also teaches modern architecture at Newton College of the Sacred Heart in addition to his own practice of architecture.
And now to the diaper front! First mention must go to John Lloyd for on May 22, he and Jan had their sixth child, Peter Geoffrey. John's back from the Far East and is now stationed in the Department of State. Sam and Barbara Wallis are nearly settled in Manchester, N. H., Sam's home base now for selling throughout upper New England. The Wallis' third child, first gal, Sally, was born on May 3. Jack and Robin Barclay had a third daughter, Margaret Lynn, on March 30. Out in sunny California five days earlier Dr. Bob and Evelyn Millhonse became parents for the first time — a son, Keith.
A first son, but third child, was born to Charlie and Alison Curtis on June 26. Young man's name is Chip — nickname that is - for Charles Jr. Joe and Lucy Ware joined the Barclays and Bucks - and others - with three daughters with the birth of Virginia Pride on March 6. Len and JudyLarrabee also had a third child after two earlier daughters, but for attorney Len and his good wife it was a boy, Len III, on January 7. A boy was also born to Manchester, N. H., attorney Pete and Betsey Guenther on September 1. Professor Gene and JudithCesari are also parents of a new son, John M., born on May Day.
Dick Ellis, vicar of St. Martin's Church in Pittsfield, Mass., joined the ranks of '52 fa- thers on August 8 with the birth of Timothy Dunstan. Dick also will be teaching courses at Berkshire Community College, headed by Tom O'Connell '5O. Another new dad who will be doing some evening teaching isGeorge Grosshans— his subject: Political Science — at the University of Toledo. George and Phyllis had a second son, Peter Byron, on March 15. Dick and Marge Gagne had a first child, a son named Richard Hill Gagne, on September 5. KUA teacher and general everything Bob Foley and wife Nancy became parents on August 30 with the arrival of Michael James.
Dr. Dick Braunstein has had a busy summer. He opened up a practice in ophthalmology in San Carlos, Calif., and also had a third son - with wife Nina's help — in June. Another doctor, Bob Cotsen, is now with the West Roxbury, Mass., Veterans' Hospital, as a resident in cardiology and the reason why he's mentioned here is that he and Patricia had a new arrival, Brenda Meisel on July 11. This has been a busy time for Phil and Judith Trowbridge too. Their third child, daughter Susan King, was born July 23. Phil was promoted to district commercial manager for the New York Telephone Co. - West Street District - and he was re-elected treasurer (two more years) for the Bergen County (N. J.) Dartmouth Club. Another Jerseyite, Brock Lewis, was a pop for the fourth time with the arrival of second daughter, Victoria Dionis on August 26. Brock's also a member of the New Jersey Tax Reform Committee and state vice president for the Jaycees. Keeping close watch on those exemptions, Brock?
Dr. Dave Abrahams has taken a position as chief of the psychiatric out-patient department at Harbor Hospital in Los Angeles and is also teaching at UCLA. Sandy Wiper is teaching biology and coaching at Newton (Mass.) High School. He spent the summer on a National Science Foundation grant at BU and is looking forward to working on his doctorate. Tom Clapp is a way out teacher — way out in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, that is - for the Arabian American Oil Co. Percy Crosby has accepted a position as associate professor of geology at the State University of New York at Plattsburg. Now working on his Ph.D. at NYU, Jesse Morgan is concentrating on modern European history. Dick Little is a new assistant professor of geography at Penn State. Dick gained his Ph.D. from Syracuse and last November he gained a third child too, Doanda Wheeler Little.
Rem Kinne has been named to a junior partnership in the Boston law firm of Hale and Dorr. Henry Chapman is a captain in the Air Force and stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Hal Morse is now in New York City since Ski and Ski Life magazines have merged and moved to the big town. He's advertising manager for Ski. Ron Feinberg is production and quality control engineer for Vogue Industries in Lowell, Mass., and also working on an M.B.A. at BU. Bid Guild has had a new book, "Professional-Partnership Purchase Plans," published in July. It's the second in a series put out by the National Life Insurance Co. Vin Rathburn is stationed with Engineers Headquarters in Korea.
This past month Wey Lundquist moved his family from Massachusetts to Alaska to become assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Alaska. He had been on leave of absence from a Boston law firm to be an assistant U.S. attorney for the Bay State. They'll live in Anchorage. Still in Boston is Marsh Smith who had opened a paperback book store in that city (17 Arlington Place) and is opening another in Brookline (271 Hammond Street). Tom Brennan has been named president of Liberty Electric Corp. Vic Trautwein is now controller of Donnelley Printing Co. in Lancaster, Pa.
Tom Collins is practicing law in San Jose, Calif. (1114 Bank of America Building), and is the father of three, Michelle, eight, Trina, seven, and Tad, five. He saw his former roommate, Bill Monahan '51, who was in from Honolulu to study at the University of California this summer. Dr. HarryWachen is now Captain Wachen, U.S. Army Medical Corps, and is stationed at Fort Bragg, N. C. Don Unger has been made a full professor of education at Suffolk University in Boston.
Howie Carter has been transferred to Florida by Elizabeth Arden Sales Corp. as territory manager covering Florida, Jamaica, Virgin Islands, Nassau, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. He and his wife and two children live at Boynton Beach. We'll be thinking enviously of Howie when the white stuff begins to fly around these old New Hampshire hills.
Long-time Ernst and Ernst man Jim Flom has also become controller for Manley, Bennett and Co., a brokerage house. He and Dorothea, Sara and Jimmy live in Grosse Pointe Farms, outside of Detroit. Attorney Roy and Kate Megargel had their second child on June 30. I happen to have a special liking for that date - it's my own birth date.

Sixty 1952 classmates, wives, and small fry had an outing in Prospect Park, Waltham,Mass., in June as the first pre-reunion reunion leading up to next June's Big Tenth.
