OCTOBER 1962 WARREN W. SMITH ’53

The annual dinner meeting was held at the Plainfield Country Club on May 26. Over sixty members and their wives attended. Preceding the dinner, everyone met around the nineteenth hole (actually the practice greens), sang Dartmouth songs, and renewed old friendships. During dinner, we were serenaded by an accordionist, and there was much group singing.

Bill McCarthy ’39, the president, opened the meeting with his apt remarks on the happenings of the past year. The meeting was then turned over to Perk Fitch ’25, chairman of the nominating committee, and he presented the following slate: For Pres- ident, Kirby Fowler ’56; Vice President, Bill Rex ’54; Secretary, Warren Smith ’53; Treasurer, Skip Hetficld ’56. For an unex- pired term of two years caused by the res- ignation of Jack Corwith ’42 (who, by the way, is moving to Coral Gables, Fla.) and the election of Bill Rex ’54 as Vice Pres- ident; Ernest S. Hickok ’24, and David V.Rugen ’3B. For full three year term: DickSometh ’59, Ralph Muelig ’5O, Norm Rob-bie ’37, John F. “Moe” Monahan ’45. The entire slate was unanimously elected by a vote of the Secretary.

President-elect Kirby Fowler ’56 thanked everyone for his election and told us briefly what we hope to do next year.

Ad Winship ’42, Assistant to President Dickey, the guest speaker, talked on his ex- periences as a young alumnus who has re- turned to Hanover fairly recently.
