The annual Boston Alumni Association
March 1962

The annual Boston Alumni Association dinner in February was the occasion for presenting to Joshua B. Clark '11 (right) an Alumni Award from the Dartmouth Alumni Council. Ellwood H. Fisher '21 of Cleveland (left), president of the Council, was present to make the award and read the following citation:

As a guardian and tireless promoter of the Dartmouth Educational Association, all of your good work in behalf of your college is exceedingly well done. Under your guidance, the Educational Association has become a very major source for loans to Dartmouth undergraduates. Charged with a drive that comes from the true Dartmouth Spirit, in recent years you have almost singlehandedly raised the membership of the Educational Association from less than two hundred to over twelve hundred persons. This sort of assistance is vitally important to Dartmouth's welfare.

Graduate of the Class of 1911, in addition to your duties as Vice-President of the D. E. A. you also serve as Alumni Fund Agent for your class. Also you have been Secretary of 1911 and Secretary of the Boston Alumni Association. And you have two additional ties with Dartmouth in two sons - members of the Classes of 1943 and 1947

Your career in the insurance world has been long and successful. You have been connected with the State Mutual Life Assurance Company since 1913. Today you are General Agent Emeritus. In the past, you have been both member and officer of several insurance associations, as well as Boston civic and social clubs.

With deep satisfaction, we honor both your distinguished career and your Dartmouth service with the Alumni Award.
