These are busy days for author WilliamCahn '34 and his wife Rhoda, shown above. A new children's book, "The Story of Writing," which they wrote together was published last month, and this month Cahn's solo effort, "Goodnight, Mrs. Calabash," subtitled "The Secret of Jimmy Durante," will be published. The former is an account of how the tools of communication developed from cave paintings to electronic computers. The latter features the nose (about 200 illustrations, a few of which do not highlight the famous "schnozz") and the wit of comedian Jimmy Durante. Some of Cahn's past works include "Einstein," a pictorial biography; "The Laugh Makers," a pictorial history of American comedians; and "The Story of Pitney Bowes," a corporate history published last year. The Cahns live in New Haven, Conn.
