At the April 3 dinner meeting in New York attended by nearly 300 class agents, WarrenG. Kreter '42 (r) was honored with the 1962 Harvey P. Hood Trophy, awarded annually to the outstanding head agent among those serving classes 11 through 25 years out of college. In presenting the award, Trustee John D. Dodd '22, chairman of the 1962 Alumni Fund, read the following citation:

Occasionally, very occasionally, a great Head Agent, strong class leaders and a truly fine class are met and when such a combination is joined the results are dramatic. You have been Head Agent of 1942 for three years. For three years 1942 has won its Group 5 Green Derby. Last year, building strength on strength, the Class of 1942 raised a total of $29,174 for the Alumni Fund from 472 donors - both new class records and an accomplishment which put your class among the top ten of our Dartmouth classes in total dollars achieved. The most outstanding facet of your leadership is the enthusiasm which you have displayed and which has spread, even faster than the flu, among your Class Agents and class membership. You have made the men of 1942 proud of their support of the Fund and of Dartmouth, and this enthusiasm and pride has been transmitted into all other areas of class activity. You have also studied your class well, and thus have been able to direct your Agents in selective solicitation of the best prospects, and in improvising new techniques for approaching non-contributors. As you start your fourth year on the job the Fund Committee believes it is high time that both you and your class were honored for all that you have done in Dartmouth's behalf. So it is with great pleasure that we award you, as the outstanding Head Class Agent of a class eleven to twenty-five years out of College, with the Harvey P. Hood Trophy for 1962.
