The lacrosse team is currently sporting a 5-5 record. It still had a chance for the Ivy League title until it met undefeated Princeton and took a 17-4 drubbing from what Coach Whitey Burnham called "a well-oiled buzzsaw." The Green's 3-2 league record gave it third place.

Despite certain handicaps, the team has proven its ability. Five players have been sidelined with injuries and three others were lost through scholastic ineligibility. Sparked by inspirational play, however, of men like Captain Bill King, the lacrosse team has lost only one game since spring vacation. That was a heartbreaker won by Yale 11-5.

Ivy League opponents who have been defeated include Cornell 9-7, Penn 10-3 and Harvard 13-7. The Indians probably put on their best display to date against the Crimson as former Big Green quart erback Bill King scored four goals, three unassisted. The All-Ivy midfielder hit twice early in the final period to clinch the contest.

Against non-league competition the Indians have topped Colgate 18-8 and Holy Cross 17-9.

King leads in scoring with 21 goals and 10 assists, while Mike Herriott has 15 soals and 15 assists and Ed Comiskey and Bill Bates each are credited with 19 goals. Comiskey and Bates have given the Indian attack good balance up front.

Brian Walsh continues to shine in the goal. He has made 132 saves in nine games and though only a sophomore should rank among the best in the league.
