On Saturday, April 20, at the Denver Hilton Hotel in Denver, Colorado, DeanHill and three professors from the Tuck faculty presented a seminar to Dartmouth and Tuck alumni and other business and professional men in the area. The participants were Mr. Marx, who spoke on "The European Economic Community"; Mr. Macdonald whose topic was "Current Issues in Collective Bargaining"; Mr. Bower, who spoke on "An Economic Analysis of the President's Tax Program." Dean Hill chaired the meeting and an informal discussion which followed.
Dean Hill also was the speaker at the annual dinner meeting of the Dartmouth Association of the Great Divide which was held on April 20 at the Brown Palace Hotel. From April 21 through 24 he attended the annual meetings of the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business in Phoenix, Arizona. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of this organization.
On April 23, Dean Hill spoke at a dinner meeting of Dartmouth Alumni in the Phoenix area, and on April 25, in Oklahoma City, he spoke to the Dartmouth Club of Western Oklahoma at their dinner meeting. With Phil Byers D'57 and Pete Barker T'55 he' visited some of the secondary schools for the purpose of meeting students interested in applying to Dartmouth. He also had an opportunity to attend a reception for boys already accepted and their parents. Then on April 26, the Dean was in Tulsa where he addressed the Dartmouth Club of Eastern Oklahoma and visited local high schools.
Mr. Moss participated in a symposium on business policy, April 7-11, at the Harvard Business School. Funds for the conference of 40 persons invited from business administration and the social sciences were made available by the McKinsey Foundation for Management Research.
Mr. Prater was awarded the Ph.D. degree by the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, at the winter term meeting of the board of trustees, April 5.
Visiting lecturers during April were: Leonard P. Spacek, managing partner of Chicago office and . John March, partner in Boston office, of Arthur Andersen & Company, who met with the Accounting Valuation class; and Howard M. Zelikow, controller, The Kratter Corporation, New York City, who met with the Finance Seminar and Accounting Valuation and Measurement B. classes.
