The glowering Ides of August drove the members of the Dartmouth Club of the Hanover area away from the Bema into the handsome confines of Alumni Hall for the consummation of the Club's traditional summer outing (this is an organization rich in traditions - one whole year of them). We were royally served by the Inn caterers to an excellent meal flavored by the piquant sauces of old acquaintance and new friendship, all conducted under the benevolent eye of Eleazar Wheelock's portrait likeness.

Not only were the Club's own geographic confines well represented by such stalwarts as: The Stanley Miners '22, the Lane Dwinells '28, the Ralph Hunters '31, but alumni visitors in town from distant realms were conspicuous by their presence. Among these latter were: the Nichol Sandoes '19, Pelham Manor, N.Y., H. Sheridan Baketels '20, Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Thomas W. Bresnahans '19, New York.

Since the potential Hopkins Center playgoers in the group were watching the time sharply, President R. DeWitt Mallary '21 cut his usual protracted address to 3 minutes, accomplishing in that fleeting moment a brilliant financial tour de force that will complicate immeasurably the already tottering fiscal edifices which his parishioners have erected — namely, $2 dues. Following a thunderous ovation of popular acclamation in favor of the aforementioned legislation, we adjourned to go our various ways. We will hope to see you in the winter on some auspicious occasion, perhaps a hockey game.
