New officers were elected to the Dartmouth Club of Southern California and announced by retiring president, Don DesCombes '54. Named were Tom Cochran'46, president; Wes Nutten '51, vice president; Gene Givens '55, secretary; JohnLiebman '56, treasurer, Jim Murar '62, assistant treasurer; and Don Fetherolf '54, publicity chairman.
At the spring dinner, "Pat" Weaver '30 spoke to over 70 alumni and wives at the Hotel Biltmore in Los Angeles. Pat had an interesting commentary on his business experience and assignment as president of Subscription TV, Inc.
During the summer, nearly 90 gathered in Pacific Palisades at the Santa Ynez Inn to enjoy a wonderful cocktail party, dinner, and dance - including a spirited limbo contest.
At the Dartmouth Night dinner, BobPurvis '49 emceed the loyal crowd gathered for a roast beef dinner at the Cove restaurant in Los Angeles. The monthly luncheons have been well attended. The October luncheon featured a talk by George Von Gehr, a partner with Langner, Parry, Card and Langler, international patent attorneys. In November, Rudy LaRusso '59 gave an amusing account of his experiences with the Los Angeles Lakers.
It looks like a great year for the Dartmouth Club of Southern California. We welcome any Dartmouth alumni living or visiting in the area to participate in the functions of the club.
