John L. Ferguson '15 (r) was honored as Class Newsletter Editor of the Year at the annual luncheon meeting of the Dartmouth class officers in Hanover last month. In conferring the award, Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College, read the following citation:
Your lifelong and good work in behalf of Dartmouth covers many different activities from Hanover to your home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We honor you today for 17 years of skillful service, in editing your class newsletter, the "1915 Frontiersman," which is a model for many others to follow.
Your class newsletter has been a leader in editorial content and your frequent issues have kept 1915 abreast of news not only of its own membership, but of the College as well. Your newsletters reflect the thorough effort you put into each issue.
As a Dartmouth worker you have served as secretary and president of the Oklahoma Alumni Association and from 1951 to 1955 you were a member of the Alumni Council. You recently retired from business but your pace in behalf of Dartmouth has not slackened.
As the Class of 1915 approaches its 50th Reunion next year, your newsletter will serve, as it always has, as a unifying force. We are sure that your classmates join us in saluting you, Jack Ferguson, as Dartmouth Class Newsletter Editor of the Year.
