Club Secretary of the Year
NOVEMBER 1965

Henry H. Williams Jr. '49 (r), secretary of the Berkshire County Dartmouth Club, was honored as the Club Secretary of the Year at the annual meeting in Hanover last month. J. Michael McGean '49 (1) read the following citation at the dinner:

There are few Club Secretaries as young as you who have labored (and lasted) longer than you! For some eleven years you have been Secretary of the Berkshire County Dartmouth Club. It's a small group yet active, and you always have played a leading role in the planning of several annual functions.

Your faithfulness to the duties of Club Secretary cannot go unrecognized for we here in Hanover know well the time that is required to prepare publicity, handle correspondence, and keep files up to date. All of this you do as evidence of a genuine devotion to your College and Club.

You returned to Western Massachusetts in 1951 following graduation from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. In that year you joined the E. D. Jones Corporation, manufacturer of paper mill machinery, a firm you now serve as Treasurer. You have been a leader in community projects, thus reinforcing the old saying that "the busiest man is often the one most willing to serve."

Dartmouth College and her alumni have been well served when it comes to operations in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. We salute you as Club Secretary of the Year and add one request: that you see to it that the next eleven years are as good!
