The fall's activities commenced with a send-off luncheon for the incoming freshmen and their fathers. Many undergraduates united with the old alumni in wishing the new freshmen success on the Hanover Plain. Among the new faces at this luncheon were Bob Dudley '58 and Jim Smith '57.
The highlight of the club's fall activities was its annual Dartmouth Night party. Seventy-six alumni, wives, and parents joined in food, drink, song, and fellowship. The club was connected again to the activities in Hanover via a closed circuit broadcast. Classes from 1919 (Bill Grant) through 1969 (several parents of the new freshmen) were present. Professor Rivers, Mike Hecht '61, Fred and Carter Marsh'60 were among the new acquaintances made this evening. The night's program featured Dr. Andrew Truxal, Dartmouth faculty 1928-1948, who reflected on "something of more value than money" - Dartmouth.
Plans for several future activities were announced at the dinner. The annual Christmas Cocktail Party will be on Wednesday, December 22. The club will be honored on Monday, March 28 with a visit by President Dickey. Plans are .now under way for this gala evening, and also a TV Football Party with the Cornell Alumni Club of Baltimore on November 13.
