So far, the East Coast of Florida has been a mixture of wonderful, good, medium, rainy and cool weather, which is really par for the course in January and February. Still, your Secretary and Marion are well tanned from exposure on the golf course and the beach, and the really nice weather should come in March and April when the big influx comes, although the "No Vacancy" signs are up now (early in March). Recent visitors to the Delray area were Fatand Hon Jackson, down for a change of scenery from Ponte Vedra; Nick and DotSandoe, spending a few days to get warm, from their new apartment in New York; Chet and Virginia Demond, on their annual visit to these parts (Fat and I ran into Chet at the Delray Country Club and he admitted to about a ninety — as we grow older we do slip a little!!!!).

The Gold Coast Alumni and the West Coast also, at this writing, are looking forward to the visit of Bob and Kay BiacKman, who are doing the Florida circuit this winter for the College and it is hard to imagine a more attractive couple to do the job. Bob is scheduled for a golf game at the Country Club of Florida with Sykes Hardy '27, an old time D. football great, Carle Blunt '26, operator of the C.C. and the Ocean Club, possibly Bob Maxwell '26 — in any case there will be a foursome that might give Bob some trouble.

The '19 Dartmouth Club of New York luncheons continue to be a great success — Chet Deinond reported the following classmates in attendance at the February gathering — on the first Monday in the month, to continue until June, — Lou Stone, Paul Halloran, San Treat, Nick Sandoe, Ken Huntington, Harry Colwell, Dick Dudensing, Lou Munro, Mose Robinson, Ed Fiske, Bill McMahon, Bri Greeley, Tom Bresnahan, and Chet — truly a great turnout - how about the Boston '19ers trying to match this! !

Bill McMahon reports, in his annual message, "The (.birthday) greeting was waiting for me right on time, for which many thanks and also the note, which helps. Glad to read that Marion is Okay and that you are enjoying the warm climes. Got to the New York February lunch and it was a goodly crowd. After we had paid our checks Cap't Fiske took over and brought the ship to a safe landing, although he and Munro convinced Huntington that he should study up on 'lighting engineering' which I am sure Ken will do. George, I am sure the Capt. needs Jackson and your good self for 'The Opera Supreme.' " (Secretary's note we don't follow you, Bill.)

1919 son, - Mr. and Mrs. Emmons Cobb of Canaan Street, Canaan, N. H., announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn, to John Russell Larmon, son of Mr. andMrs. Russell R. Larmon of Hanover.

1919 was represented at the annual Boston Alumni Dinner on February 2 by Herb Fleming, Maury Hall, Bunny Burnett, Ray Hinds, Howie Cole, Nocky Wallis, John Shelburne, Spider Martin, Charles Clay, and Rock Hayes, who reported the event. 1919 was in second place in attendance to 1921, which is good. Quoting from the Boston Herald, John Dickey, in an interview prior to the dinner, said that Dartmouth expected to hold the line on undergraduate growth while doubling its graduate enrollment. Teacher-scholars, faculty members who engage in both teaching and research, have become indispensable to quality education, Dickey said. A teacher today must continue his own education through research and thus set an example of ongoing learning for his students. In announcing Dartmouth's Project ABC—A Better Chance — John disclosed that 49 of the 55 culturally deprived boys who participated in the pilot program last summer have gained admission to private secondary schools.

Recent arrivals in the Delray area are Jim and Polly Wilson and Jock and EdnaMurray whom we expect to see shortly. Also, a letter from Norm and Ruth Jeavons indicates that if they can dig themselves out of that Cleveland snow, they will hit Florida in early April. Ken and Marj Huntington are en route to Ocean Ridge via Ponte Vedra with golf in mind and a swim in the nice warm Atlantic. A note from Larry McCutcheon states that he and Mary have been in Atlanta visiting their daughter in her new home and won't be on hand for the Pow Wow in Ft. Lauderdale on March 16-17.

Sometime next June, at the suggestion of the great retired curler, Cap'n Eddie Fiske, there will be a stag golf outing at Kennebunkport, Me.,— details to come via Eddie and Win Batchelder.Cotty Larmon has already accepted for the Hanover '19ers and we are hoping for a repeat on the most successful Concord, N.H., gathering.

From Sid Hay ward's "Bulletin," "Total of completed applications for next fall's entering class of 1969 (when good old 1919 staggers into Hanover for their 50th) stands at 4700 compared with 4300 a year ago. Admissions Director Eddie Chamberlain and his associates are deep in their salt mines studying the complete folders of all applicants to make the best possible selections."
