SOUTH END STORY
APRIL 1965

LOCATED AT THE SOUTH END of the Hopkins Center, and comprising one of its four main components, are the music headquarters of the College and all the superb facilities for concerts and for individuals and groups to practice, listen, and enjoy the musical arts. Except for Spaulding Audi- torium, the music end of the Center does not have as many readily visible parts as the theater, the galleries, and the studios, but the activity there takes second to no other bee-hive in the Center, and the rehearsal, practice, and listening rooms are usually filled with both students and sound. Photographer Bill Rodarmor '63, a senior, got curious about what was going on musically, and his pictures, presented here, prove that the answer is "plenty."

Prof. Franklin B. Zimmerman (conducting) won plaudits last term by opening symphony rehearsals to anyone interested.

With all the practice rooms filled, this enterprising violinist found thecorridor a pretty good place.

Prof. Paul R. Zeller, chairman of the Music Departmentand director of the Dartmouth Glee Club, works hard onrehearsals as the Club gets ready for the spring tour.

Making a choice from the extensive record library.
