With considerable regret we announce the departure from the Association's ranks of Jack W. Patten '53, former Dartmouth football great. Jack has been McGraw-Hill's regional manager for the Rocky Mountain area and is now only a few days and two typhoid shots from a new home in London and the post of European Regional Manager for that company. For the last two years, Jack has been our Program Chairman, arranging the annual dinner meeting and all monthly luncheons. Through imagination and careful planning he has truly revitalized the speaker program at the monthly luncheons. The magnitude of Jack's contribution is hardly revealed by the title he bore but the fiber of the Association's regular social life is much the stronger for his efforts. We all pass on our sincere wishes for his continued success.

It is sometimes rumored (and occasionally believed) that the Denver Lacrosse Club was not originated by Dartmouth men. However, regardless of the questionable parenthood of this esteemed group, by nature and breeding it now belongs to the Big Green. The club is currently captained by Thomas C. Fead '56 and shored up by such stalwarts as Jim McClintock '44, George Shaw '54, Al "Fireplug "Krutsch '59, Peter Gulick '59 and Anson Mark '53. Also wielding sticks are Bob Woodberry '54, Monte Pascoe '57, Jim McElhinney '60, Jack Patten '53, Jim Swanson '59, Lee Ambrose '59, Harry Shaw '59 and Bill Murane '54. With the addition of Bruce Ducker '60, who has been holding out for a better contract in the hope of avoiding spring training, the team should achieve a new level of hilarity, if not success.
