THE AUTHOR: Robert P. Henderson '53 of Wellesley, Mass., is Vice President and Associate General Manager, North American Operations Group, of Honeywell Information Systems, Inc., and is responsible for all North American marketing and planning for Honeywell. As one of the country's most knowledgeable executives in the computer field, he has testified before the Senate Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights in support of establishing safeguards in computer use to protect the privacy and rights of individual citizens.
After receiving his MBA from Tuck School in 1954, Henderson served two years in the U. S. Air Force and then joined the sales staff of IBM Corporation. He moved to Honeywell in 1960 and before being promoted to his present position in 1970 was successively branch manager, regional manager, and vice president and general manager of the company's electronic data processing division.
