From the farthest corners of Connecticut came loyal Dartmouth alumni. From the Hanover plain came Jack and Pat Musick with the 1964 football film. From the kitchens of the Griswold Inn came lobster and roast beef. All came together for the first meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Southeastern Connecticut.
Eddie Perrin '38 came from Hartford to praise the turnout of over 100 persons. DanFuller '46 came from Stonington to emphasize the need for a strong contingent to interest outstanding local boys in going to Dartmouth. Dave Schreiber '45 came from Essex to nominate and witness the election of officers. The results were: Cornwall Miller '39, president; William Webster '39, vice president; Russel Burgess '60, secretary; Nathaniel Spitz '44, treasurer, and WilliamSpicer '62, program chairman. From New Haven came Leo Silverstein '43, Dick Carr'49, to add their Dartmouth Club's support. From the few alumni who were not present came post cards requesting that they be considered as members.
A finer first meeting could not have been. Our next will be a reception for the Canoe Club on its annual down river trip.
