Fund Tops $1,700,000

Early July figures for the 1965 Alumni Fund showed $1,500,000 contributed by 22,000 donors, with gifts still being counted and income from Class Memorial Funds and endowed funds still to be added. Fund officials estimated a final total of $1,700,000 to $1,725,000 some $75,000 to $100,00 above last year's record-breaking total of $1,625,000, but slightly below the 1965 goal of $1,800,000.

New records appeared in sight for many classes, with one or two expecting to top $60,000 and several others to exceed $50,000. Alumni participation was expected to be close to 70%, a national high for major college and university funds. Final figures will appear in the October issue and a comprehensive Fund Report will be published in November.
