JUSTIN A. STANLEY '33, Vice President of the College, will return this summer to the practice of law in Chicago, after a two-year leave of absence from Isham, Lincoln and Beale, a law firm in which he has been a partner since 1949. Mr. Stanley, who came to Dartmouth in the fall of 1952, has been in charge of the College's development program, which has undergone both a fundamental and rapid expansion during this period. In addition to his other responsibilities, he has been a popular speaker before alumni clubs, where he has outlined College policies and prospects. Mr. Stanley was especially active in furthering the present program for increased scholarship funds. At the time of his appointment to Dartmouth's administrative staff, Mr. Stanley was president of the Dartmouth Alumni Council.
Receiving the LL.B. degree in 1937 from Columbia University, Mr. Stanley joined the law firm of Isham, Lincoln and Beale in that year and served on the faculty of Chicago-Kent College of Law from 1938 to 1946. For the year 1942-43 he was a public member of the National War Labor Board disputes section for the Chicago region. During the war he served as a lieutenant in the Navy.
