Bob Blackman was in Washington, D. C., on January 14, 1966, and the Dartmouth Club appeared in record numbers to salute him. Lunching in the Colonial Room of the Mayflower Hotel here, Bob told of the wide acclaim the Dartmouth team had received since the close of the 1965 undefeated season. Commenting on a rumor appearing in the Washington Post the day before that he was being considered as a candidate for head coach of the Washington Redskins, Bob told a relieved audience,

"This was strictly a rumor and that's all. I have never been approached by any Redskin officials and have no desire to become a pro football coach."

Brad Cole '43, President of the Washington, D. C., alumni club, introduces CoachBob Blackman to a club luncheon meeting. With them is Jack Pyles '32 (r),father of Tom Pyles '67, the team's fineplace-kicker last season.
