Band Leader Paul Weston '33 (c), visiting Hanover last month with his son Tim (r), found the new facilities at Hopkins Center a far cry from the third floor of Bartlett Hall where he practiced daily with his "Green Serenades" during undergraduate days. He told Warner Bentley (1) that he played in the Dartmouth Band but didn't make the famous Barbary Coast Orchestra. So he formed his own band, which in view of his 25 years of outstanding success in recording and movie work, proved a good start.

For the last eight years Weston has worked almost exclusively in television, currently as musical director and conductor of the Paul Weston Orchestra on the Danny Kaye show. He and his wife, singer Jo Stafford, have produced several records in the popular "Jonathan and Darlene" series, and plan two new releases shortly. On vacation from Hollywood touring New England, he had an opportunity to see the new Center for the first time. He is a member of the Hopkins Center Music Advisory Committee.
