"Dartmouth Overture" Premiere.

The concert on April 17 by the Dartmouth College Concert Band under the direction of Prof. Donald W. Wendlandt featured a world premiere performance of composer-conductor Robert Russell Bennett's "Dartmouth Overture."

Mr. Bennett, music director of the NBC Television Network's "Project 20," was in attendance for the performance of his work, one of several by modern composers commissioned by the Hopkins Center Congregation of the Arts. One of Mr. Bennett's other pieces, "Suite of American Dances," was included on the varied and rewarding program offered by the College's Concert Band.
