WDCR has set Christmas as the deadline to collect at least $3000 for its "Let's Help" program to aid children in a South Vietnamese village. The Dartmouth radio station is directing its appeal to both the College and area residents and will gladly accept alumni donations at Hanover Post Office Box 957.
The money will be channeled through the non-profit Save the Children Federation directly to the village, choice of which depends upon the amount collected.
"We may disagree on Vietnam but all agree on children, so that must be the starting point," says Larry Barnet '68, assistant general station manager, who with Bill Moyes '70 initiated the project. Further, the community-help plan has the advantage of appealing to the hawks, concerned with American prestige and Vietnamese support, and to the doves, who favor non-official aid.
When communications with a village are established, WDCR and Save the Children will make regular reports on the use of donations.
