REYNOLDS TROPHY WiNNER
May 1962

Phillips M. Van Huyck '24 has received the James B. Reynolds Trophy as the 1961 Alumni Fund's outstanding head agent among those serving classes more than 25 years out of college. Fund Chairman John D. Dodd '22 made the award at the dinner meeting of class agents in New York on April 4, and read the following citation:

Seven years ago you were preparing to start your first Fund campaign in behalf of 1924 as you took over the reins'as Head Agent following the untimely death of your class's great Fund leader, Harr F. Ranney. In that first year of your leadership the Class of 1924 compiled class records in total dollars, total contributors, percent of objective and percent of participation. In your second year as Head Agent you improved further on these records and for three of your six years 1924 has contributed to Dartmouth and the Alumni Fund over $30,000 annually. With a fine group of veteran class agents helping, with carefully planned and organized campaigns, and with loyal and realistic support from most classmates, 1924 always has ranked high in Green Derby competition and consistently has placed second among all Dartmouth classes in dollar total. You have also served the Fund well as president of our Class Agents Association, and your many helpful suggestions have proven invaluable to the Fund Committee. For these great services and for the abiding dedication to Dartmouth College which they bespeak the Alumni Fund Committee is pleased to honor you as the outstanding Head Agent of a class more than twenty-five years out of College with this award of the James B. Reynolds Trophy.
