The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Greater Boston held its annual dinner at the Sheraton-Boston on Thursday, February 2. A large gathering of alumni, wives, and friends was on hand for an outstanding program featuring from Hanover President John Dickey along with Steve Luxford '68, and Gene Ryzewicz '68, ably representing the football team. Further highlights of the evening included alumni awards to Dan Ruggles '21, and George Redding '29, and the election of Bill Squire '40 as president for the coming year.
Other officers elected were: Robert F.O'Brien '41, first vice president; Howard C. Smith Jr. '52, second vice president; EdwardMcLaughlin '42, third vice president; Ralph B. Fifield Jr. '46, secretary; John W. Williamson '42, assistant secretary; Philip H. See Jr. '5O, treasurer. Executive committee members elected for the coming year were: John Sullivan '36, Ira Berman '42, Charles Hood II '51, Dana Hennigar '55, Joseph Slotnik '58, and George Southwick '57.
One further item of business was the adoption of the name Dartmouth Alumni Association of Greater Boston, and the addition of the word "greater" to our title more accurately reflects the scope of the organization.
The second half of the evening was an excellent musical program with the Dartmouth Concert Band, the Injunaires, and a folk singing group all contributing handsomely to the enjoyment of the audience. Future activities of the Boston club include a holding meeting for successful candidates for admission on April 23, and Dartmouth Night at Pops on May 9. Also, the Dartmouth Club at Harvard will present a program on April 5 featuring Professor Franklin Smallwood '51.
