At the annual Alumni Fund Class Agents
MAY 1967

At the annual Alumni Fund Class Agents dinner in New York, March 29, the 1966 James B. Reynolds Trophy for the outstanding Head Agent of a class 26 to 40 years out of College was presented to Samuel Z. Wormser '27 (r) by Alumni Fund Chairman Ralph Lazarus '35. Wormser s citation read:

Each successful Head Agent usually has one unique secret behind his success, and yours, we believe, is the fact that you don't sleep well in the early morning hours. From 5 A.M. on you are usually at your home desk writing personal letters to agents and classmates on the Alumni Fund. This has resulted in a really first-rate team of well-motivated and guided Class Agents, and in personal letters to every classmate who supports your class campaigns. It has also resulted, during the past two years of your tenure as Head Agent, in 1927 increasing its annual gifts from the $50,000 level to over $60,000. Last year 1927 ranked third among all classes in Alumni Fund giving, and finished a close second to the Class of 1925 in the Group III Green Derby. This year your class observes its 40th Anniversary and the Fund Committee is confident that your daily devotions and thoughtful quest for even more dollars will yield further impressive records of achievement for the Class of 1927. Be this as it may, we honor you tonight for your achievements and are herewith delighted to honor both the Class of 1927 and its distinguished Head Class Agent by presenting to you the James B. Reynolds Trophy as the outstanding Head Agent of a class twenty-six to forty years out of College.
