Bob Kenyon '07 Awarded Fred Howland Fund Trophy
JUNE 1967

Robert D. Kenyon '07 was honored at the Dartmouth class officers meeting in Hanover last month when he received the Fred A. Howland Trophy for his outstanding work in the 1966 Alumni Fund campaign. In making the presentation, Fund Chairman Ralph Lazarus '35, read the following citation:

Usually Alumni Fund Trophy citations, such as this, deal primarily with past accomplishments of the Class and the Head Agent. It goes without saying that your accomplishments during the past five years as Head Agent of the Class of 1907 have indeed been extraordinary. In the face of a declining class membership, you have managed to hold steady in numbers of contributors and dollar achievement in each succeeding year through the excellent organization and personal follow-up you apply to each Campaign.

We are honoring you here today for the really fine records achieved by the 1907 family — alumni, widows, relatives and friends — in last year's 1966 Campaign when you won the Group I Green Derby, going almost 50% over your dollar goal and gaining 261% in participation, the second highest percent of objective and largest participation percentage recorded by any class in the Green Derby competition.

We should note, however, that in this - your 60th anniversary year - these records may be surpassed. With the 1967 Campaign only half over your Class of 1907 has already gone over its dollar goal and has reached the 200% level in participation. Clearly another Group I Green Derby win appears in sight. We are privileged to honor you, your fine Class Officers and Agents and your Class of 1907 family by presenting you with the Fred A. Howland Trophy as the outstanding Head Class Agent of a class more than forty years out of College.
