Dartmouth football in 1967 remained a suspense-filled sport right down to the last seconds of the Princeton game, when the Bengals' persistent fourth quarter thrusts were thwarted and the Big Green miraculously moved back into Tiger territory to emerge on top via the field goal route just before the clock ran out. The 17-14 victory sent the Big Green's many rooters home in fine spirits, and offset the previous week's successful fourth quarter uprising by Cornell. '50's from far and near witnessed the Princeton epic; unofficially, Dixie Vaughan was the person with the most mileage between the stadium and home, which is Way-zata, Minn. Three weeks previous, Minne-sotans Bill and Ruth Frenzel were the unofficial class mileage-makers who were in the Yale stands when the backs - unfortunately the wrong ones - went tearing by.
Steve Pollak, who returned to the Justice Department in October as special assistant to Attorney General Ramsey Clark, after serving as special assistant at the White House for District of Columbia matters, has been appointed head of the Civil Rights Division, effective December 31. Steve, who has been with the Justice Department off and on since 1961, now is at the very forefront of the Government's drive against racial discrimination.
