Unusual among the undergraduates this fall are seven women enrolled as special students in the Department of Drama. The drama major was inaugurated a year ago to offer courses in both the literary and performing aspects of dramatic art. Last year the enrollment of women was limited to graduate students, but this year women with junior-class standing were accepted. Although they will concentrate their studies in drama, they may select a number of courses from other departments. Each of them has been assigned a faculty adviser.
The young women, on leave from seven cooperating colleges and universities, will receive full credit for their junior year upon the successful completion of their studies. They come to Hanover from Wellesley, Smith, Vassar, Temple, Elmira, Syracuse, and the University of Minnesota.
