Four new officers of student affairs began their duties this fall. George Kalbouss, Assistant Professor of Russian Language and Literature, is serving as Assistant Dean of Freshmen, succeeding D. Scott Palmer '59, who resigned to study for a Ph.D. degree in government at Cornell. Professor Kalbouss has been on the Dartmouth faculty since 1967 and will continue teaching part-time.
Arthur P. G. McGinnes III '64 has been named Assistant Dean of the College to replace Jay C. Whitehair '55, the new Assistant Director of Financial Aid. Mr. McGinnes, who received an M.B.A. degree from Tuck School in 1965, was an
account executive with Young and RubiInc., New York advertising agency. Appointed assistants to the director of admissions are Peter T. Brown '63 and Stephen K. Rugg '66. Mr. Brown earned an M.A.T. degree from Harvard in 1964 and then taught high school mathematics and coached gymnastics in Evanston, Ill., for four years. Mr. Rugg recently completed a two-year tour of duty as an officer with the Adjutant General Corps in Charleston, W. Va.
