Topping previous records, 93 club officers attended the 13 th annual meeting of the Dartmouth Club Officers Association in Hanover, November 7-9. Seventy-two wives also joined in the weekend activities. Among those present were representatives from a number of the more distant clubs including Denver, Cleveland, Detroit, Montreal, Sarasota, Atlanta, Chicago, and Minneapolis.

After an opening dinner in Alumni Hall Thursday evening, the group was addressed by Leonard M. Rieser '44, Provost and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

The Friday morning sessions featured four speakers: Almon B. Ives, Professor of Speech; Louis Morton, Professor of History; John A. Rassias, Professor of Romance Languages; and Carleton B. Chapman, Dean of the Medical School. Luncheon at Thayer Hall was followed by three more program sessions. The club officers heard about the new drama department from Prof. John W. Finch. Then Director of Athletics Seaver Peters '54 and Director of Admissions Edward T. Chamberlain Jr. '36 discussed their specialties.

Everyone gathered in Alumni Hall Friday evening for the annual dinner with President Richard A. Watson '59 presiding. For the first time a Dartmouth Club of the Year award was given, and sharing the honor this year were the Philadelphia and Northwestern Connecticut Clubs. The Club President of the Year award went to J. William Petty III '54 of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Cincinnati. Club Secretary of the Year was Paul B. Urion '38 from the Seacoast Region (N. H.) Club. (Citations appear with their class columns in this issue.) After dinner a student panel moderated by Dean of the College Thaddeus Seymour discussed " Take Five' from Dissent for a Change."

A stag buffet breakfast led off Saturday's activities with greetings from George H. Colton '35, Vice President of the College, and Emil Mosbacher Jr. '43, national alumni chairman of the Third Century Fund. The officers then moved to workshop sessions on enrollment and club programming, while their wives heard about the new drama coeds from Rod Alexander, director of theater. Preceding a buffet luncheon in Alumni Hall, A. Alexander Fanelli '42, special assistant to President Dickey and chairman of the Bicentennial Planning Committee, spoke.

With their work done, the club officers enjoyed the Dartmouth-Columbia football game and dinner at the DOC House.

New officers of the Association for 1968-69 are: Edmund R. Senghas '47, Bergen County, N. J., president; David R. Metz '54, Westchester County, N. Y., vice president; and David E. Orr '57, Hanover, secretary. The newly elected executive committee includes Theodore Ely Jr. '55, Springfield, Mass.; C. James Schaefer 3rd '48, New York City; Paul H. Mannes '55, Washington, D. C.; and Clark Weymouth Jr. '54, Detroit.
