One for the Summer

For the fourth successive year, the College has been given a contract under the National Defense Education Act to conduct on campus a Summer Institute in U. S. History.

A difference this year is that the Institute will concentrate on the high school history teaching program rather than on the 36 individual teachers who will be attending. Twelve of the 36 will be "alumni" of the previous three Institutes, representing twelve different schools or school districts. They in turn will assist in selecting 24 more teachers from among their own colleagues.
