Assistant Summer Dean

Mrs. Walter C. Griggs has been appointed to the position of Assistant Dean of Summer Programs, succeeding Mrs George F. Theriault who resigned last fall. She will be responsible for women's activities at the College during the summer term, and will also assist Dean Waldo Chamberlin in planning through-out the year.

The wife of Dr. Walter C. Griggs, ophthalmologist at the Hitchcock Clinic, the new assistant dean is a graduate of the University of Rochester and an operating staff nurse at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. She is a member of the Dartmouth Arts Council and the chairman of the Friends of Hopkins Center, a volunteer service organization devoted to increasing interest and participation in Center activities among residents of the Upper Valley. At her Norwich home Mrs. Griggs keeps busy with four school-age sons, Thomas, Peter, James, and Kelly.
