Woodrow Wilson Fellows
MARCH 1968

Six Dartmouth College seniors have been designated among the best future college teacher prospects on the continent by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.

Woodrow Wilson designates for 1968 are: James M. Henle, a mathematics major from Arlington Va.; David B. Hull, a physical anthropology major from Concord, Mass.; Patrick O. Kearney, a French major from Montreal, Quebec; Bruce G. McKenzie, an English major from Arlington, Mass.; James L. Price, a romance languages major from Durham, N. C.; and Kenneth E. Warner, an economics major from Washington, D. C. Four other seniors received honorable mention.

Graduate school deans will receive lists of the 1124 designates chosen in the United States and Canada with the recommendation that all are "worthy of financial support in graduate school."

This marks a change in the Foundation's program. In the last ten years, with funds from the Ford Foundation, the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation was able to make direct grants to approximately 1000 students annually. With the reduction in Ford Foundation funds, the Foundation now limits itself to the identification of students with the best potential for college teaching.
