The establishment of the $25,000 Robert Proctor 'l9 Memorial Fund, providing an annual $1,000 undergraduate scholarship, was made known last month.
Mr. Proctor, who died last year, was a partner in the Boston law firm of Choate, Hall and Stewart, and was associated with major litigations involving anti-trust and banking suits. He received his LL.B. from Harvard Law School, and served in both World Wars, being awarded the Legion of Merit.
The Memorial Fund was made possible by gifts from individuals and corporations among which the principal donor is the American Optical Company of Southbridge, Mass., on whose boards of trustees and directors Mr. Proctor served for more than twenty years.
