Dartmouth's Third Century Fund has arrived at the $18-million mark in its campaign to raise $51 million by the end of the Bicentennial year 1969-70, it was reported to the Alumni Council at its June meeting in Hanover. The report, on behalf of national chairman Rupert C. Thompson Jr. '28, was presented to the Council by Harrison F. Dunning '30, chairman of the Fund's major gifts committee.
The national executive committee of the Third Century Fund had informally set an interim goal of $18 million to be reached by Commencement 1968, and the report of the attainment of that objective was made to the Council only a few days after Commencement.
