The events of Commencement week and the important Bicentennial are now precious memories of Dartmouth' College. 1900 was represented on this significant occasion by Robert Jackson and the 1900 Family by Marion Atwood, widow of 'Chels' Atwood. The events were not altogether a happy experience for Bob. In a letter to me he said: "I was the only member of the class to be in Hanover at Commencement. Consequently, the experience was one of sadness and nostalgia. The campus was populated with too many strange faces and those of too many friendly ghosts." It may be of interest to the readers of this column that Bob Jackson's daughter Sarah is an interior decorator of recognized ability. Her engagements in this capacity have taken her to Washington. D. C., Florida, and to California. The experience of Marion Atwood was an altogether happy one. Her niece's son, Christopher, was a member of the graduating class.

Commencement is always a reminder of class reunions. Our class baby, Ruth Bean, daughter of 'Cap' Jenkins, has been one of the most constant attendants at 1900 reunions. Her first was that of 1910 when she was a bright little eight-year-old. She recalls how dressed up she felt in her "new white dress with the green bow tie and her large white embroidered hat." Through the years Ruth has been present at most if not all of our 1900 reunions. It seems therefore quite proper to label her our Reunion Queen. Ruth has spent a most delightful summer at her home in Auburndale, Mass. A visit from her daughter and two children from Brevard, N. C., has contributed to her joy, as well as one from her son and his family established in Los Angeles.

Jeanette Virgin, widow of Arthur Virgin, has been spending the summer at Clematis Farm, North Hatley, Quebec. She says "I came here just in time to see Arthur's beloved daffodils in full bloom." It is to be hoped that she has had a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding summer.
