The Bicentennial reunion found the Class well represented. The count is as follows: Spique and Ruby Mclntire, Barney and Adele Thielscher, Sandy and Tommie Lynch, George Allison, Don and Helen Brooks, Hal and Nell Valentine, Walt Walters, Larry and Lucile Nourse, Al and Nellie Bushnell, Norm and Mary McCullough, Gene and Lucille Towler, Mott and Fran Brown, Slats and Helen Baxter, Bob and Gail Boynton, Vic and Irene Smith, Len Reade, Willis and Nina Fitch, Ralph and Ethel Sanborn, Karl and Elizabeth Stillman, Roger and Carol Stone, Chuck and Mildred Jones, Bill Eaton, Duke and Dot Howe, and last but not least, Ray and Peg Allen who joined us at our wind-up picnic at the Outing Club. Incidentally, the Aliens are nearby at their summer home on Lake Morey.

The opening gun for '17 was a fiveo'clock cocktail party in the Drake Room. Alumni dinners and luncheons were also enjoyed. Anchor man Allison gained the honors for long distance travel, flying in from Casper, Wyo., still quick of wit and dashing around as of old. Many of our members attended panel discussions and gave enthusiastic reports. Indeed, the entire sojourn at Hanover proved to be a very satisfactory gathering for all those present.

In case you missed the inside story in a recent ALUMNI MAGAZINE, we are proud to report that Doc Walters was the recently honored recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Abdominal Surgeons.

On a recent trip to Maine, I was fortunate enough to find our good '17er, PhilWoodwell, located in the country environs of York. He is the owner of a family estate of about 200 acres in a lovely area not far from the seashore at Kittery Point. After retirement as an English professor in the Boston section, Phil came to Maine to make his home. He and Virginia appeared in good spirits and were about to launch a 36-foot boat equipped with all the necessary rigging to sail from Maine to Florida. So if any of you '17ers want to find a good skipper, check up on your English contact, Phil Woodwell.

A brief visit in Norway, Me., found Harold Bean in good health. Friday is doing well with his Bean crop - fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

We regret that we must report the loss of three classmates. John Bathrick passed away on February 10, 1969, and both RalphCarpenter and Charles H. Wood died on April 27, 1969.

By the time you read these notes, many of us will have enjoyed the fall reunion of the Class. At last, we will find the Hanover Inn completed. Its comfortable quarters will be especially appreciated, since they were not available for our 50th reunion. Meanwhile, keep those letters coming!
