These notes should reach you in the merry month of May, the month for class officers' meetings in Hanover, the finals of the Alumni Fund Drive, and plans for the post-50th Reunion in June. Please let your class president or secretary know if you plan to attend.

Right now, our trek to Florida seems like a happy dream. A heavy snowfall greeted us on our return - a bit late to help the ski business. while the gasoline shortage curtailed our travels somewhat in the Sunshine State, we were fortunate in finding friends and college associates at nearby locations. Bob and Anita Scott were in winter residence at Fort Lauderdale. Again, it was pleasant to renew friendship at Bob's delightful Coral Ridge Country Club. Bob never fails to find a place where the food is excellent, as well as a course to challenge his own golf game.

Unfortunately, there is no good news to report about Gil Swett. Jane keeps busy and has members of her family living in the area.

A noon meeting of the Ivy League in Sarasota brings many graduates of eastern colleges together. Walter Henshaw '21, provided a table at Zinn's restaurant, where we also met Charles Ashton '20.

Mrs. Mosher (Pauline) Hutchins has purchased a new home on Siesta Key, where we enjoyed her hospitality. Pauline is an avid bridge fan, and she and her daughter Frances Armstrong took us on for a brief contest.

Bill Eaton is well cared for in a Clearwater Nursing Home and seemed gald to see us. He is fortunate in having the oversight of his devoted sister, Mrs. Isabel Hulin.

Our modest but deserving Slats Baxter again makes headlines. Quoting from a recent press release - "Wild strawberries, representing not only a medicinal herb but a religious symbol, are the emblem of 'the righteous man whose fruits are good works.' This describes Dr. Ray-mond H. Baxter, who was honored at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church in Marion yesterday on his 80th birthday anniversary." The gift was a needlepoint kneeler as a "living memorial" to Dr. Baxter and his contribution to the life of St. Gabriel's Church. Congratulations and a hearty "Rouse," Slats.

Tom Eggleston '74, who made the cover of the March Alumni Magazine, spoke to us on March 27 in Montpelier at the annual meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Central Vermont. This 6'6" basketball giant, who is also a member of the Alumni Council, together with John Piggott '74, a French literature major, brought us up to date on the implementing of the plan whereby students spend time abroad in the Foreign Studies Program. In this instance, both gave interesting accounts of their studies in France where they attended college classes in their chosen subjects and became more fluent in the language through living in French families. Their enthusiastic presentations were supplemented by slides depicting teachers, associates, and scenes of the locality. Alden Guild '52, presided at the meeting which was attended by over 60 Dartmouth men and their wives.

In closing, we regret to report the death of our classmate Clifford O'Neil, on January 28, 1974. Your secretary is in touch with the family and further details will be reported as soon as available. With sorrow, we also learn of the passing of Mrs. Archie (Mary) Gile whose devotion to 1917 will be long remembered.
