The Studio Theater in Hopkins Center has been renamed in honor of Warner Bentley, who retired last June as director of the Center. The decision of the Board of Trustees was announced by President Dickey, who described Mr. Bentley as "a truly great servant" of the arts at Dartmouth. He said it was appropriate that the Studio Theatre has been named for the former Director of Theater because, as the site of most experimental and student theater activity, it serves as the fountainhead for continuing dramatic creativity at Dartmouth.
Last year in the Bentley Theater students introduced 12:30 Rep, a daily lunch-hour drama providing members of the Dartmouth community with a welcome mid-day pause.
