There were 63 alumni, students, prospective students, and parents who attended the cocktail party on Friday, December 27 at Mountain Shadows Club. Ye scribe contracted the popular Hong Kong flu and had to leave early.

Alumni present included Edith and Lew Waterbury '12, Olivia and Lowell Wormley '27, Russ Fisher '17, Clair and Frank Poor '26, Bill Behrens '56, Ruth and Wayne French '46, Phyllis and Dune Newell '36 with their daughter Julie, Edna and Bill Brindley '45, Muriel and Bob Morrison '47 and son Bob '72, Duncie and Jim Felter '46, Kit and Ed Conklin '30, Ed Comins '45, Wilma and Bruce McLeod '60, Ginney and Dick Vaules '57. From the present student body at Dartmouth were Barry Doyle '70, Rudy Brotherson '70, Doug Frerichs '72 (son of Wayne '46), Pete Harter '70 and Jack Pasor '70. There were about twenty prospective students also present, some of them with parents.

The regular monthly meeting with luncheon at the Arizona Manor took place on January 7 with eight "regulars" present.

The Phoenix Committee for the Dartmouth Third Century Fund held a dinner meeting at the Paradise Valley Country Club on January 24. Duncan Newell '36, chairman, welcomed alumni from Scottsdale and Sun City; Orlando Davidson, Southwestern representative of the Fund, as well as a large group of regular members. Guest speaker was Charles J. Zimmerman '23, chairman of the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company and Dartmouth Trustee. Charlie spoke fluently about the Third Century Fund and presented a graphic picture of the College today and plans for the future. The evening was highly successful.

Those attending the February 4 luncheon included President Bill Brindley '45, Treasurer Frank Poor '26, Secretary Russ Fisher '17, Jack Per-Lee '25 (down from Wickenberg), Lew Waterbury '12, Bill Terry '13, Dick Holbrook '31, Dick Loughry '34, Jim Martin '25, Dune Newell '36, and the Rev. Nick Carter '27.
