April also brings the launching of the 1969 Alumni Fund campaign, which makes its formal start April 1 with a goal of precisely $2,148,548.69 - the amount achieved last year in the 1968 campaign.

Alumni Fund Chairman Richard D. Lombard '53 emphasized that the goal was the same because of the policy adopted by the Trustees, Alumni Council, and Third Century Fund to "sustain the annual Fund at its present level throughout the period of Dartmouth's major Third Century Fund Campaign."

Lombard also reported that advance gifts and pledges totaling $700,000 have already been received from 3200 donors, a total almost identical with that of a year ago.

As the campaign gets under way Chairman Lombard and President Dickey, along with other College officers, will be appearing at class agent meetings being held in eight alumni centers — Boston, April 1; Washington, D. C., April 3; Hartford-Springfield, April 7; New York City, April 8; Hanover, April 14; Chicago, April 15; Los Angeles, April 16; and San Francisco, April 17. All class agents and class officers have been invited to attend these kickoff meetings.
