Six College seniors and three alumni have been awarded James B. Reynolds Scholarships for Foreign Study during the academic year 1969-70. The Reynolds grants are made possible through a bequest by the late James B. Reynolds '9O, who was active in national Republican affairs and international trade organizations. The scholarships have been awarded annually since 1951 to seniors and recent graduates for a year of study abroad and provide a basic stipend of $2500.
Recipients of the 1969 Reynolds Scholarships and their research plans are: Eric Forsythe '69 from Tenafly, N. J., drama and theater arts at the University of Bristol, England; Stephen B. Hladky '66, to continue working on a Ph.D. in biophysics at Cambridge University, England; Andrew W. Lewis '65, currently working toward a Ph.D. in history at the University of Chicago, medieval history at the University of Paris; Kenneth G. Lieberthal '65, currently working toward a Ph.D. in political science at Columbia University, Chinese language and political interest groups at Taiwan and Hong Kong; John H. Masten '69 from Rye, N. Y., politics at Balliol College, Oxford University; Kenneth I. Paul '69, from Forest Hills, N. Y., English literature at the University of London; Paul R. Pillar '69 from Livonia, Mich., philosophy, politics, and economics at Oxford University; Bennett M. Pudlin '69 from New Britain, Conn., Italian literature at the University of Florence; and Dennis M. Young '69 from Dallas, Texas, political science at University College, Dares Salaam, Tanzania.
